THE COALITION
↓
The Defund the Police Coalition was formed in June 2020, following the police Killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in the United States and Chantal Moore and Regis Korchinski-Paquet in so-called Canada.
The initial members of the coalition created a set of ten demands, meant to combat police racism and violence and create a new vision and practice of collective safety in Montreal. The coalition now includes over 80 members and an evolving set of working groups devoted to specific coalition activities and objectives.
